प्रस्तुत कहानी बड़े भाई साहब में दो भाईयों का आपसी प्रेम है । दोनो भाइयों के स्वभाव में जमीन आसमान का | अंतर था । बड़े भाई हमेशा पुस्तकों से चिपके रहते थे तो छोटे भाई (लेखक) हमेशा खेलना - कूदना धमाचौकड़ी करना पसंद था । लेकिन अपने बड़े भाई से डरते भी थे बड़े भाई उन्हें हमेशा पढ़ने की नसिहत देते थे । लेखक अपने बड़े भाई साहब के साथ पढ़ने के लिए अपने गाँव से दूर हॉस्टल में रहते थे । बड़े भाई साहब ही लेखक की देखभाल करते थे।

है। रावण अपने घमंड के कारण ही नष्ट हो गया समझे ।

एक दिन लेखक पतंग उड़ाते समय पतंग पकड़ने के लिए सड़क पर दौड़ते समय उन्हें गाडियों का भी ध्यान नही रहता तभी वे अचानक अपने बड़े भाई से टकराते है । तब बड़े भाई ने उसका हाथ पकड़ा और डॉटा । और लेखक से कहने लगे कि तुम चाहे कितना ही आगे निकल जाओं फिर भी मैं तुम्हारा बड़ा भाई हूँ। तुम उम्र में और अनुभव में मुझसे छोटे ही हो समझें ।
